Meraki Go Releases New Wi-Fi 6 Access Points

Meraki Go’s mission is to bring enterprise-grade wireless networking to small and medium businesses like cafés, shops, offices and other enterprises that need reliable networking with business-level security. All the Meraki Go products are designed to be easy to set up, even for small businesses that don’t have their own IT department.

The new GR12 (indoor) and GR62 (outdoor) wireless access points offer speeds up to three times faster than the previous generation of Meraki Go access points and deliver twice the capacity.

Powered by Cisco technology, both new Meraki Go access points include built-in enterprise-level security and can automatically update their firmware and apply security updates that Meraki Go issues from time to time.

The new access points can handle up to 100 connected devices simultaneously without dropping speed. They also utilise Wi-Fi 6’s Target Wake Time (TWT) feature, which is an effective way of saving power and lengthening battery life on connected devices like smartphones and tablets.

The Meraki Go GR62 outdoor access point is rated at IP67-rated against foul weather and harsh environments. It’s ideal for any business with outdoor seating such as a café or restaurant. Both access points can wirelessly mesh with other Meraki Go access points to extend Wi-Fi coverage with all points using the same SSID.

Setting up is as simple as scanning a QR code using the Meraki Go smartphone app. Beyond the simple setup, there’s the cloud-managed Meraki Go app and web portal which makes customisation easy and can provide key insights on business and guest usage.

Apart from being easy to use and giving business owners more control and features over their network, both the Meraki Go access points report insights on real-time network usage and foot traffic. This kind of data can prove useful when planning staffing levels and adjusting marketing tactics.

Meraki Go claims the new access points can be up and running in under 10 minutes and there are no monthly subscription or licensing fees to pay.
